About Shri Devi (Shailputri) Ji Ki Aarti

The Aarti "Aarti Keejai Shail-Suta Ki" is a touching and deeply devotional hymn dedicated to Goddess Parvati as Shail-Suta, literally meaning the daughter of the King of Mountains (Himalayas). Known as Shailputri in the Navadurga tradition, She represents the manifestation of pure consciousness, solid commitment, and unwavering faith. The opening verses express that chanting Her sacred name fills the devotee's heart and eyes with tears of supreme divine love, invoking a stream of sweet nectar-like affection and spiritual bliss.

The hymn extols Her multi-faceted divine virtues: She is the annihilator of sins, the dispeller of Kali Yuga's corruptions (Kali-Mal-Harini), and the compassionate mother who navigates Her devotees safely across the turbulent ocean of worldly existence (Bhavsagar). Armed with divine weapons to protect the righteous, She roams the majestic mountain peaks (Shail-Vihaarini). She is honored as the divine mother of Lord Ganesha—the reservoir of wisdom and intellect—highlighting Her role as the root source of cosmic wisdom.

Mounted upon Her noble lion (Singh-Vaahini), Goddess Bhavani resides permanently on the throne of Lord Shiva's heart as His divine consort. The aarti encourages all living beings across the universe to gather in unison and sing Her glorious praises. Engaging in this aarti dissolves mental impurities, nurtures emotional stability, and envelops the practitioner's household in an aura of divine grace and absolute protection.
