Sage Pulastya replied—O highly fortunate one! You have asked a very noble question for the welfare of the world. Listen carefully. Upon the arrival of the month of Magha, a person must clean their mind and body, master their senses, and completely abandon anger, ego, greed, and backbiting. Remembering the Supreme Lord of lords, one should wash their feet with holy water and collect cow dung from the ground. Mix sesame seeds (Tila) and cotton into it, and prepare exactly one hundred and eight sacred cakes (Pindikas).
