The Udyapan of Santoshi Mata fast should be performed with devotion and proper rituals after the accomplishment of one's wish. For the Udyapan, Khaja made from two and a half Ser (approx. 2.3 kg) of flour, Kheer in the same proportion, and chickpea greens (Chane ka Saag) should be prepared. At the time of worship, a ghee lamp should be lit, Santoshi Mata should be hailed with deep reverence, and a coconut should be broken. After this, eight young boys should be fed a meal. After feeding them, cash money should not be given to them; instead, fruits, clothes, or any other useful item should be offered according to one's devotion and capacity. On the day of Udyapan, no kind of sour food should be eaten at home, nor should it be fed to anyone.
